Join us to hear from the esteemed Former State Senator Fran Pavley, author of:
-
California’s landmark climate policies requiring reduction in Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions to below 1990 levels by 2020 (reached by the state in 2016)
-
California's vehicle GHG emission laws that were then adopted by the Obama administration
Pavley was City Councilmember & Mayor of Agoura Hills for 16 years, followed by 6 years in our State Assembly and 8 years in our State Senate. Pavley will offer a brief history of California’s environmental policies, with an emphasis on coalition building.
We will also hear from Tomas Rebecchi, Central California Organizing Manager for Food & Water Watch, one of the lead organizations which ensured Ventura County Supervisor Carmen Ramirez’s victory in spite of the oil money funding her opponent. Rebecchi will discuss the current state of environmental and climate activism, as well as his organization's efforts to ensure safe food, clean water, and a livable climate.
Also: We'll launch this year's Project Gratitude initiative, and let you know how you can help!
